Isabel R. Martinez, of Arbuckle, CA, age 91, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, February 11, 2024.
Isabel was born on August 26, 1932 to Juan and Teresa Ramos in EL Marchal, Spain. Isabel moved to California at the age of 15. She married the love of her life, John Martinez, at the age of 19. In 1956 they moved to Arbuckle and began farming. Isabel and John had three sons, Bobby (Debbie), Gene (Margie) and Steve (Lela) Martinez. Isabel and John also raised their grand-children, Jason and Tana, after the death of Bobby and Debbie in June of 1978.
Isabel and John had 8 grand-children: Jason, Tana, Bobby, Spencer, Lucy, Joshua, Zachary, and Betsy, along with 11 great grandchildren.
Isabel enjoyed people and never met a stranger. She loved attending her family’s sporting events. Isabel was an excellent cook and was happiest when her family was together enjoying a good meal. She had a spunky personality and will be missed by many.
Isabel was predeceased by her husband, John Martinez; parents, Juan and Teresa Ramos; brother, Juan Ramos; and sons, Bobby and Steve Martinez.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, February 26 at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at McNary-Moore Funeral Chapel, 107 Fifth Street, Colusa. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 408 Laurel Street, Arbuckle. Interment following at the Arbuckle Cemetery.
