Carol Ann (Mom/Grams/Grandma & Cam) was born in Calistoga, California. Her family, Parents, Glenn and Carol McHaffie and five siblings (Glenda, Cora, Lova, Darla and Harold) lived and worked on many ranches throughout Northern California,until they moved to Grimes, California when Carol was in middle school. Mom attended Pierce High School in Arbuckle, California, where she met and married Vince Dickens (Dad) in 1956; She lived in Grimes and Colusa for over 70 years.
The following is an attempt to create a picture of Carol Ann (Mom) for you all.
Mom will always be in our hearts: loving Vince Dickens, her children and her very large extended family (including any baby within smiling distance). She loved being a rodeo barrel rider, baton twirler, Fort Bragg ocean lover, Colusa Swim Team/Little League/Friday night High School Football supporter, taking weekend water ski trips and Reno trips with Dad, loving and caring for her animals & flowers, dancing on bars, raising margaritas, collecting frogs, making special blankets for over 100 family members, being a Grandma and Great Grandma with hugs and laughter and Aunt Cam to over 100 nieces and nephews. Mom cherished every friend she ever had.
Finally, and most certainly, yes, keeping track of every Birthday/Anniversary/
I am leaving a place here for your own memories of our mom, I know there are far too many for this space.
Our family will be having a small, private, service for Mom. We will be announcing a very large public Celebration for our Mom to be held this June, details will be provided soon. Deb (Sis) & Darrel (D).
