Hilda Wheeler, 81, of Truckee, CA, died on December 21, 2022, due to complications from Cancer. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Christine Siebelink and Son-in-law Peter Siebelink and Grand children. She leaves behind her sister Carla Tamborski and brother Tony Valente.
Hilda was a strong and hardworking woman, with a quick wit, who charmed people with her political knowledge, legendary smile, and generosity. Born in Colusa, CA she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Josephine Valente. Growing up she always loved the outdoors and working with the public, giving service; a true gift that made her a successful political figure. Recently she enjoyed her time as a concierge with members of Tahoe Mountain Club.
When she wasn’t creating policies or planning itineraries, she was hiking in the Sierra and enjoying time with friends. Hilda loved hiking, fishing and building relationships with people. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Her family would like to thank the staff of Tahoe Forest Hospital for her care and also those who cared for her in her final weeks and extends their deepest appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to Crystal Ridge Care Center. ■
