Sylvia Plytas

01/12/1927 - 03/19/2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sylvia Plytas on March 19, 2023, at the age of 96. She is survived by her youngest sister, her four children, ten grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Sylvia was born in a small town in Oregon. Upon graduating high school, she moved to California to attend college. There she met the love of her life, Michael, and together they raised their family in San Francisco.

Sylvia had a passion for reading, writing, listening to talk radio, gardening, cooking, traveling, compiling the family history, and spending time with her family.

From a young age, she expressed a love for the Bible. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she firmly believed in God’s promise of a resurrection of the dead and the hope of a better future for all. This faith sustained her as she faithfully cared for her husband during his many years of battling Alzheimer’s. In her later years, she moved to Arbuckle to live with her youngest daughter.

We will miss her dearly and await the day when “He will call, and she will answer.” – Job 14:15. ■
