Joseph Ronald Candito ” Butch, passed away February 4, 2021 at the age of 68. Born November 25th, 1952 to Rookie and Marguerite Candito. He was a Colusa native and graduate of Colusa High School. Joe was a local rice farmer for the past 35 years. Many farmers around the area may remember Joe in his early years as a mechanic for AMBAC Equipment Company in Colusa, or as Service Manager for Butte Equipment and Case IH in Gridley and Yuba City. But most people knew Joe as the Sales Manager at Sankey Auto for over 28 years, until he retired in 2020 to continue farming and to spend more time with his kids and grandkids.
Joe liked to support the local 4H and FFA chapter as a buyer at the Junior Livestock Auction. He also enjoyed attending the local high school sports games. He was a lifelong San Francisco 49er fan that rarely missed watching the games on TV, unless he was making excursions to the games with friends and family members. He loved laughing and having fun with family and friends. While there was a time when he loved to duck hunt and fish more often, in more recent years, you would find Joe spending more of his time with his family and friends than hunting or fishing. He especially loved being with his grandchildren, who he was so very proud of.
A great man that touched the lives of many. He will forever be missed.
Joe is survived by his wife, Marcia Candito; his son Michael Candito; his daughter Brooke Reading (Nick); stepchildren Haley Amundsen & Nick Ferriaulo; sister Joyce Candito; brother Dennis Candito; his niece and nephews, several cousins, and his grandchildren. Todd, Max, Mia, Rocco, Micah, Maddux, Khole, Ava, Aubriella. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rookie and Marguerite Candito.
The public viewing and Rosary will be held on Wednesday, February 24th, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. at McNary-Moore Funeral Service, 107 5th street, Colusa.
Services will be held Thursday, February 25th, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 345 Oak Street, Colusa. Graveside services to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colusa. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made in his name to the Joseph R. Candito Memorial Fund at Tri Counties Bank to support local youth clubs, Knights of Columbus, and other community organizations. –
