Playing in their first Five-Star League contest at home last Tuesday, the Maxwell Panthers were swept by Redding Christian, but bounced back two days later to take care of Los Molinos, posting a straight set win.
Against a taller Redding Christian team, the Panthers looked tentative and were often out of system in the 25-12, 25-23, 25-18 loss.
However, Paige Vierra turned in a strong all-round performance, accounting for four kills, seven assists, and seven digs, while her counterpart in the front row, Emma Hendrix, had a team-high five kills.
In the back row, Bailee Haywood made 13 digs, while Perla Herrera pitched in with six.
No scores or statistics from the match with Los Molinos were provided.
Maxwell (9-3,1-1) was in Chester on Tuesday and hosts CORE Butte tonight.
