Guadalupe Salazar Jr.

09/22/1952 - 04/20/2023

Guadalupe Salazar Jr. was born September 22, 1952, in Linares Nuevo León Mexico to Guadalupe Sr. and Esther Salazar. Lupe grew up in Colusa, CA, where he attended Colusa High School (Class of 1971). While in high school, he played both baseball and football for the Colusa Redskins.

In his adult years, he moved several times throughout Northern and Southern California, as well as a short stint in Kentucky. Eventually, he settled in Lodi, CA, where he was a Production Manager for Epic Plastics until his retirement in 2021. He had moved back to Colusa in 2022 where he could be close to his family.

Lupe never met a stranger. Especially if it was in a pool hall, and you were willing to risk playing for a Bud Light. He always had his quarters and cue stick ready.

Lupe is survived by his wife Diana Salazar of Colusa, CA. and daughters Shelly Salazar-Aldamen (Omar) of Yuba City, CA and Kendall Salazar (Eric) of Lodi, CA and step-sons Nathan Klein (Stacy) of Lodi, CA. and Adam Klein (Christa)of Orcutt, CA. His granchildren Nora, Omar, Emmalee, Hana, Amber, Adam and Chase.

He is also survived by his siblings Maria de Pillar “Pill” (Elias) Andrade, Gumercindo “Gumer” (Barbara) Salazar and Yolanda (Robert) Tirado all of Colusa. Also San Juana de Rosario “Janie” Salazar of Texas, Esther (Jerry) Rogers of Kansas, Jaime “Jimmy” (Pam) Salazar of Gridley, CA., Jose Mario “Joe” (Michelle) of Nevada, Alfredo “Fred” Salazar of Folsom, CA., and Javier “Jay” Salazar of Williams, CA.

He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Gloria Salazar.

At Lupe’s request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name can be made to The City of Colusa Fire Department, The National Kidney Foundation or the Colusa Redhawk Foundation. ■
