In the midst of the basketball and soccer playoffs, the Colusa tennis team emerged with a 6-3 win over visiting Gridley on a cold and windy afternoon last Thursday.
Playing on the No. 1 court, senior Asa Smith edged his opponent 6-4, 7-6, while the RedHawks also got victories in singles play from No. 3 Rosendo Flores (6-4, 7-6), No. 4 Jesse Medina (6-4, 6-4), No. 5 Arthur Andreotti (6-2, 4-6, 7-2) and No. 6 Elias Sierra (6-0, 6-4).
In doubles, Medina and Andreotti posted the RedHawks’ only win blanking the competition 8-0.
This week Colusa was scheduled to play in Oroville on Tuesday and Corning today. ■
