Pierce then followed up with two Sacramento Valley League victories, when it thrashed Willows 70-20 on Jan. 3 before easily handling Winters 58-33 on Jan. 6.

Now, 12-2 overall and 2-0 in the SVL, the Bears welcomed Paradise to town on Monday, were in Durham on Wednesday, and will travel to Trowbridge to take on East Nicolaus on Friday. ■
