Colusa ducks finish strong at CYSSA State Skeet tournament

On Saturday, May 15, the Colusa Ducks concluded the skeet season in Stockton at the CYSSA State Skeet tournament.

In individual award Chase Carrere (146/150) was in a four way tie for first place at and came away with 2nd place.

In the JV division, 2nd place went to Dustin Wurm (141/150),

In the IE division, Robert Shadley (136/150) placed 1st and Lucas Bowen (125/150) placed 3rd.

In the Rookie Division Caleb Manhart (127/150) was awarded 1st place, in the Young Adult division, Devin Wurm (141/150) placed 3rd.

Squad awards: Reagan Parisio, Landon Barrett, and Robert Shadley placed 1st place in the IA division. Riley Pearson, Lucas Bowen and Walker Ryan placed 2nd Place in the IE division.

Caleb Manhart, Rhett Bowen and Cade Campbell took 1st place in the rookie squad division.

The Colusa Ducks placed 3rd in Varsity, 1st in Junior Varsity, 1st Place in the Intermediate Division, and Series High 3. Additionally, they placed State Shoot High 3 with 1st Place in the Intermediate division.

The Ducks will compete next in the U.S open shoot in Las Vegas July 5-10.

“Despite a very long day and high winds, the kids hung in and finished very strong,” said Head Coach Bruce Hardwick. “I am so proud of this group of kids and parents.” ■
