Good for those who try

Not everyone can climb a mountain, but good for those who try.

Today is our final day at  Big Sky. While Grandma Tasha, Velvet, Tiffany, Becky, and I entertain the grandkids, Val and Sami are competing in the 50k climb on Lone Peak.

Yesterday, grandson Kohen finished in the 1k run. He’s a great, spunky, and competitive little kid. He always wants to try. I’m really proud of him.

Today has been an adventure with grandkids. We’ve seen grizzlies and wolves and other critters. We had a picnic, shopped, and ate ice cream.

Yesterday evening, a curious fox stopped and looked us over. He took time out from his journey through the trees near our condominium just to sit and look at us, as if trying to figure out what we might be. He was huge. Furthermore, he was beautiful.

Montana (Big Sky Country) is a glorious place to be in the fall of the year.

It’s a special place for sure.

Like so many other places these days, there was an abundance of tourists here. Some are masked and some are not. After a year of quarantine, it’s as if most of America hit the road running. It’s pretty much up to the individual what they want to do about masks.

Again, I say, just be safe. Practice good judgment. Visiting West Yellowstone today, we saw license plates from all over the country, so folks are back on the move.

Last week’s toothache is now under control. The pain is gone, and the swelling is down. Next week, this tooth I’ve nursed along for years will be pulled. Later it will be replaced. Life goes on – only different.

While at Big Sky, we also celebrated granddaughter Lea’s 12th birthday. She’s such a beautiful young lady now. We are so blessed to have her in our family.

Life is good today.
