Letter to the Editor – Vaccine

After reading the letter to the editor in the Oct 7, 2021 Pioneer Review from Ms. Jennifer Roberts, criticizing the comments made by Dr. Delgado, I felt compelled to write a rebuttal to the arguments she put forth.

Ms. Roberts has stated that Dr. Delgado’s statement concerning the experimental nature of the COVID vaccines was a misleading statement. I disagree. Currently, the clinical trials of mRNA injections will not be completed until 2023. Thus, the trial and safety data are still being collected, while the product is being injected into humans. By definition, this makes it an experimental injection. This has been confirmed by Moderna. (Moderna’s admission, interview, Rumble.com, 7/19/2021.)

Ms. Roberts was also erroneous in claiming the vaccine’s proven safety record. As far as studying and monitoring, the VAERS system (Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System) has reported 15,386 people have reportedly died after receiving the injection as of Sept. 17 this year; 20,789 have been permanently injured; and over 800,000 have reported some kind of adverse reaction varying in severity. (vaers.hhs.gov; openvaers.com). We can scarcely claim this product is completely safe.

Finally, we seem to have forgotten that we have certain rights and obligations to discern for ourselves. The Nuremberg Code, written in 1947, served to protect patients from medical experimentation. Its first declaration was that: “the voluntary consent of the human subject is absolutely essential.”

In closing, I support and applaud the well-thought-out proposals outlined by Dr. Delgado. I urge others to consider evaluating the larger picture before jumping onto a political bandwagon, and to continue to adopt policies based on principles of a well-documented, multi-modal approach to preventative medicine, as well as management and treatment of active disease.

With Respect,

Christopher R. Impinna, DVM
