Baseball:
Pierce 10 – Colusa 0 (5/5)
Pierce 6 – Colusa 5 (5/8)

Although this season has not been an easy one for the young Bear team, it notched its first Sacramento Valley League sweep with victories over its county rival Colusa.
Playing on the road last Tuesday, Fabian Paiz tossed a one-hit shutout in which he struck out eight and issued just two walks.
Brady Washburn went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI and Thomas Murphy doubled to lead Pierce at the plate.
As for Colusa, a double off the bat of Gio Velasquez was the only hit.

However, things were a little more challenging in the second game as the Bears had to rally for three runs in the home half of the seventh in order to claim the walk-off victory.
Murphy, Paiz, Jimmy Anderson, Connor Harris and Alex Ramirez each recorded hits for the Bears.
Colin Dye and Harris handled the pitching duties, striking out a combined 11 RedHawk batters in the process.
Meanwhile, Colusa got two hits apiece from Mason Jennings and Charlie Faris, but once again miscues in the field proved costly.
Pierce (5-16, 3-8) played a game in Paradise on May 11, while Colusa (3-20, 0-12) saw its season come to an end.
