Eight locals earn All-America Cheer honors

Colusa High’s All-American cheerleaders include Gabby Ojeda, Avery Lay, Ebony Lopez, and Ania Malone.

Colusa County will be well represented on the All-American Cheer Squad as four cheerleaders from Colusa High School and four from Williams High School earned All-American honors this summer.

Colusa’s newly minted All-Americans include Gabby Ojeda, Avery Lay, Ebony Lopez, and Ania Malone, while Williams is represented on the squad by Isabella Santillian, Jocelyn Santillian, Perla Trejo, and Mia Juarez.

Williams High cheerleaders Isabella Santillian, Jocelynn Santillian, and Perla Trjo, and Mia Juarez earned All-American honors.

To become an All-American, athletes must attend a Universal Cheerleaders Camp and, during the try-outs, display superior technical skill in jumps, cheers, and dance – along with exhibiting exceptional enthusiasm.

Once selected, the cheerleaders are invited to participate in special events across the country, including a nationally televised parade at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
