With the football season less than two months away, local high school teams are gearing up by getting in some reps over the summer.
One of the ways the teams have been preparing is by participating in 7-on-7 competitions, which allow players to fine tune their skills, work on timing, and condition all at the same time.
To this point, Maxwell has been the hub for 7-on-7 events, having hosted the three other county schools on June 22, and another on June 29 which featured the Panthers, Pierce, Hamilton City and Willows.
The official first day of football practice is August 1 with games beginning August 26. ■
