Cross country season got underway for the Colusa RedHawks last Saturday.
In Vacaville, the team competed at the Lagoon Valley Classic against some of the top runners in Northern California – and got impressive performances from two of their own.
Running in the small school 3-mile varsity boys’ race, which featured 99 harriers, junior Kevin Sarabia finished 32nd in a time of 20:13.
Freshman Cesar Cruz, competing in the 2-mile frosh/soph division, finished 38th amongst 212 others crossing the line in 13:25.
This week, the RedHawks hosted a Mid-Valley League preview race at the Sacramento River Recreation Area in Colusa on Sept. 8. ■
