There are those of us that work and earn and there are those among us who feel it’s ok to take what the rest of us have earned.
I’m a worker-earner so I guess I’m ripe for the picking.
In the last month, I’ve been hit both on my credit card (someone is wearing $200 golf shoes) and my debit card ($300 for cardboard shipping boxes).
Really? Cardboard boxes. . .
The credit card was hit while I was traveling. Once reported, the bank shut down the card. They’d replace it in 7-10 days. That was great. They fixed it but, oh yeah, I was traveling with a card that no longer worked.
Thank God I had other means, but know that wasn’t always the case. Believe me, there have been plenty of times in my life that the loss of my bank card would have left me stranded.
I’m discouraged by the attitude of some that it’s just OK to take. Apparently, it has become a means of support for some people.
I was raised on faith, honesty, and hard work. I tried to test my kids on the same lessons.
I’m proud to say, they learned the lesson well.
I just don’t get why we continue to have the lowlifes walk among us.
Are we, the worker-achievers, the stupid ones? I don’t think so.
On to better things. My daughter-in-law, Becky, recently earned her BSW. There ya go.
Hard work, but she did it all while maintaining a great family life and holding down a full-time job. It can be done.
The blessings in our life continue. Just for a minute I’m distracted by the unjust behavior of others.
Then again, also this week, grandkids Kohen and Aubree came over for a morning of swimming. I like nothing better than hearing the laughter of those kids. As grandma, I, of course, gave them ice cream sundaes before lunch. It’s my job to sugar them up and send them home.
Life is still good today. ■
