My bucket list is near completion. Friday evening, I had the pleasure of hearing Andrea Bocelli live. Magical! What a blessed voice he has.
My pal Carol and I are on our journey back to North Dakota. I’m excited to show her the beautiful country.
Like most out-of-staters, she’s most interested in seeing a buffalo. I’m pretty sure I can make that happen. She’s in for a treat as we get into cowboy country. There is so much to see. Much more than buffalo.
I enjoyed my California time, but it’s time to be back on the prairie. That is where I’m most content. After a couple of days of city driving, I’d had my fill.
It’s hard for me to adjust to so many people moving at a fast pace.
Ironically, I remember when I first moved to Beach in the 1970s. I had to physically slow down and adjust to the calmer lifestyle. Soon, I learned it was a good thing.
Happily, we left in the nick of time to miss the California heat, too.
Our girl trip to McCloud was fun. We had this great vintage house to stay in this year.
It’s not about where we go or where we stay, though. The important part is that we’re together.
It amazes me that after nearly 60 years, we can still enjoy one another’s company.
Yesterday, Tom and I celebrated (by phone) our sixth wedding anniversary.
We have built a good life together. What better way to spend our final chapter than together?
Today is Mother’s Day. I miss my mom. She was a woman I admired. She taught me to be a strong woman. I learned from her the value of hard work, not giving up, and defending myself and the people I love.
Bonnie was as tough as nails but loved with the biggest of hearts.
It was an honor to be her daughter.
We’re traveling again today.
Life is good today. ■
