Life is Good: Learn from the past

Time in my childhood county has reminded me of what was once my life.

These past two weeks, I’ve driven on familiar country roads. I’ve shared time with many old friends.

I’m reminded of the magical country upbringing that was mine.

I think I now appreciate it all more than I did as a child.

I’ve been making this trip from North Dakota to California for five years. It may be time to do shorter visits. As much as I love my solo road trips, I think I might bite the bullet and fly next trip.

That’s kind of a big deal. I hate flying and being at the mercy of flight schedules and delays.

Pals Deb and Connie and I are heading out this morning for our annual girl’s trip. This year, we’ll go to a vintage home in McCloud. It’s a familiar area for us, having been there many times in the past.

The most important part of our annual trek is that we are together. Although they are sisters by birth, we three are sisters by love.

Again, I count yet another blessing of my youth. Friendship that has lasted a lifetime.
This week, I also attended the Pierce High School’s reunion. Thanks to Charles Geyer and the planning committee. They did a great job.

It was wonderful to visit with so many old friends.

Admittedly, I’m getting a little homesick for Tom, Rocky dog, and the rest of the Craigo Clan.

Home is where the heart is, they say, and mine is in North Dakota.

Life is good today.. ■
