Life is Good: Kentucky

When they talk about “my old Kentucky Home,” I now know what they mean.

For the past couple of days, we’ve been staying at an Airbnb in Dry Ridge, Ky. It’s a pre-Civil War house, once the home of Pearl (Granny) King. Her great-grandson Gary still owns it.

Granny’s House sits among other similar homes, all with beautifully manicured lawns that seem to go on forever.

It’s just perfect here.

Yesterday, we visited the Creation Museum, and today we’ll go to the Ark Encounter. Tomorrow, we’ll travel on to Asheville, N.C. and meet up with friends, Gary and Katherine.

This has been an adventure for sure, and we still have more awaiting as we visit friends and family, continue to be tourists, and work our way back home to North Dakota.

We’ve had a few minor mishaps, but so far, nothing major.

Our hotels have been “Pigs in a poke” and an adventure too. Some wonderful; others not so much. But, Granny’s House has been the reward.

As we got deeper into Missouri, Indiana, and Kentucky, we saw the beauty of the densely thick trees. The colors are starting to change, and it is glorious.

Definitely, life is good today.
