In the presence of her family, Sheryl passed away on December 9, 2022. Sheryl fought ovarian cancer for almost seven years. Her amazing strength and will to live will be remembered by all who knew her.
Sheryl was born and raised in Colusa, California. Her Colusa family included her parents John Sanderson (deceased) and, Barbara Sanderson, her brother
Steve and her sister Brenda Cull (deceased).
Since graduating from UC Davis in 1977, Sheryl lived and worked in San Rafael,
Washington D.C., New York City, Pleasant Hill and for the last 33 years in Alamo. In the 1970’s and 1980’s Sheryl worked as a para-legal and in retail for Macy’s in New York and California.
Sheryl and Craig were married for 43 years. Over the last 39 years, Sheryl and husband (Craig) raised four wonderful children–Brian, Kevin, Allie and Mindy. As her close friends know, she was always involved in assisting and supporting in the children’s schools and other activities. Sheryl maintained many friendships including with numerous teachers. She valued education and appreciated the hard work and sacrifices that teachers make in order to educate our youth.
Sheryl will always be remembered for her generosity, warm and caring personality and dedication to family.
In addition to her immediate family, Sheryl has five grandchildren: Austin (7), Brooklyn (5), Harrison (2), Parker (2) and most recent addition— Harper. She also has two daughters-in—laws (Brittany and Michelle) and a son- in-law (Tom) and a soon- to- be son- in-law (Shane).
It was Sheryl’s preference that we have a memorial gathering in her honor. The celebration of Sheryl’s life will be held at Round Hill Country Club on February 5, 2023, from 2-5 p.m. All friends and family are welcome. ■
