NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
A PROPOSED ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 15.04, 15.06, 15.08, 15.10, 15.12, 15.24, AND 15.26 OF THE WILLIAMS MUNICIPAL CODE, ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 2022 EDITION OF THE CALIFORNIA BUILDING STANDARDS CODE (CALIFORNIA CODE OF REGULATIONS, TITLE 24); INCORPORATING THE 2022 CALIFORNIA BUILDING CODE; THE 2022 CALIFORNIA ELECTRICAL CODE; THE 2022 CALIFORNIA MECHANICAL CODE; THE 2022 CALIFORNIA PLUMBING CODE; THE 2022 CALIFORNIA FIRE CODE; THE 2022 CALIFORNIA RESIDENTIAL CODE AND THE 2022 CALIFORNIA GREEN BUILDING STANDARDS CODE WITH LOCAL AMENDMENTS
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a public hearing will be held by the Williams City Council at 6:00 p.m. on July 19,2023 , or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, at the Council Chambers at City Hall, 810 E Street, Williams, California, to consider adoption of the following ordinance:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WILLIAMS AMENDING CHAPTER 15.04, 15.06, 15.08, 15.10, 15.12, 15.24, AND 15.26 OF THE WILLIAMS MUNICIPAL CODE, ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 2022 EDITION OF THE CALIFORNIA BUILDING STANDARDS CODE (CALIFORNIA CODE OF REGULATIONS, TITLE 24); INCORPORATING THE 2022 CALIFORNIA BUILDING CODE; THE 2022 CALIFORNIA ELECTRICAL CODE; THE 2022 CALIFORNIA MECHANICAL CODE; THE 2022 CALIFORNIA PLUMBING CODE; THE 2022 CALIFORNIA FIRE CODE; THE 2022 CALIFORNIA RESIDENTIAL CODE AND THE 2022 CALIFORNIA GREEN BUILDING STANDARDS CODE WITH LOCAL AMENDMENTS
The California Building Standards Commission adopts and publishes the California Building Standards Code (Title 24, California Code of Regulations) every three (3) years. The California Building Standards Code, Title 24, is the established minimum regulations for the design and construction of buildings and structures in California.
The Williams City Council will hold a public hearing to consider the above ordinance, which if adopted, would amend Chapter 15.04, 15.06, 15.08, 15.10, 15.12, 15.24, and 15.26 of the Williams Municipal Code relating to adoption of parts of the 2022 California Building Standards Code. Adoption of the proposed ordinance would allow for continued permitting under and enforcement of the California Building Standards Code in the City.
The full text of the proposed ordinance and one copy of each of the above referenced codes will be available for public inspection in the office of the City Clerk at City Hall, 810 E Street, Williams, California, for not less than fifteen days prior to said hearing date.
