Colusa Certified Farmers Market, 4 to 7 p.m., Veterans Memorial Park, 10th and Market streets, Colusa. Shop fresh locally grown produce, baked goods, handmade items, and artisan crafts while supporting local farmers and vendors. The weekly market also features community organizations, children’s games, and activities. The market is held every Thursday through Aug. 27. Friday, Aug. 14

Senior Spread, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the second and fourth Friday’s of each month at Trinity Friendship Hall, 511 Oak St., Colusa. A gathering for senior citizens, with lunch served at noon. Cost is $5, or $3 if you bring a dish to share.

Paint Party, 6 p.m., Williams Community Center, 860 C St., Williams. Join the Williams Community Center Association for an evening of painting. All painting supplies are provided. Participants are asked to bring their own refreshments. Cost is $30 per painter. RSVP by calling 530-415-7047.

Saturday, Aug. 15

Maxwell Harvest Festival BBQ Showdown, Pitmasters and backyard grillers are invited to compete in the BM Bar BBQ Showdown as part of the Maxwell Harvest Festival. Categories include ribs, chicken, tri-tip and no-bean chili. Entry fee is $65, and winners will receive custom championship belt buckles.
