Colusa Officer Receives Lifesaving Medal

Colusa Police Sgt. Mikah Hogan, left, receives recognition from Colusa Mayor Pro Tem Dave Markss during the July 21 Colusa City Council meeting for lifesaving actions during a May 27 emergency. Hogan responded to a business at 627 Market St. after a 911 call provided limited information. After officers forced entry, Hogan located a man with a life-threatening arm injury and applied a tourniquet before medical personnel arrived. Police Chief Joshua Fitch credited Hogan’s quick response, composure and actions with helping save the man’s life. Hogan received the department’s Lifesaving Medal for his actions.
