It was a tremendous day for Colusa FFA, when it traveled to the Butte County Fairgrounds in Gridley on Nov. 10 to compete in North Valley FFA Fall Sectional contests, where they came away with three team awards and seven individual top five placings.

In total, 16 schools from Glenn, Butte, and Colusa counties participated in Best Informed Greenhand, Farm Records, and Cooperative Marketing, along with opening and closing ceremonies contests at the event, hosted by Gridley FFA.

When the awards were handed out, Colusa was the first place in Best Informed Greenhand Team, first place Farm Records Team, and second place Cooperative Marketing Team.

Individually, Ashton Gutierrez was the top Greenhand, while Jace MacKaben was second.

Holley Hickel walked away with first place in Farm Records, just ahead of Abby Myers in second, and Anahi Guzman in fourth.

In Cooperative Marketing, Ethan Lay and Lissandra Fuerte took third and fourth place, respectively.

Colusa will continue to compete in upcoming field days this spring, but has qualified to go to state finals at Cal Poly in May.
