POLICE OFFICER TRAINEE

Monthly Wage $4,029.91 (While attending academy)

Monthly Wage $4,850.82 (Starting Salary as Police Officer)

The Williams Police Department is seeking highly motivated individuals who are eager to work in a city and department that prides itself on professionalism and community support. Selected candidates will attend a California P.O.S.T. approved basic academy and pass all required courses.  Upon graduation from the police academy, trainees will be sworn as a Police Officer and will begin a 12-week field training program in the patrol division.  Police Officers participate in 4/12 work schedules and must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Police Officers have an 18-month probationary period and are represented by the Williams Police Officers Association (WPOA).  The Williams Police Department is a proactive, professional, public safety organization that prides itself on its interaction and support within the community.  No experience is required; however, successful candidates must attend and graduate from a P.O.S.T. certified basic academy.  Must have any combination of education and/or experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for satisfactory job performance. Possession of High School Diploma or equivalent with related college course work, AA or BA is desirable.
