Ernest “Ernie” Edward Robinson

06/26/1938 – 08/18/2026

Ernest “Ernie” Edward Robinson, 88, passed away peacefully on Aug. 18, 2026. Born on June 26, 1938, in Missouri, Ernie spent much of his life in Colusa, California, before making his home in Durham, California, for the last 19 years.

Ernie proudly served his country in the United States Army after being drafted in 1961, completing a two-year obligation. Following his military service, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for I.G. Zumwalt Co. He later worked for the County of Colusa, where he finished his career as Chief of Maintenance before retiring.

Above all else, Ernie was a devoted family man. He was a loving husband to his wife, Sharon Robinson, and a caring father to his daughter, Valerie Pendley, and her husband, Spencer Pendley. He was a proud grandfather to Bella and Hayden Pendley and played an important role in raising his grandchildren. His family could always count on him, and caring for the people he loved was one of the most important parts of his life.

Ernie was a man of many interests and talents. He enjoyed woodworking, painting, puzzles, classic cars, collecting pocket knives, and listening to Elvis Presley. Artistic and creative by nature, he enjoyed working with his hands and making things throughout his life.

Those who knew Ernie will remember him most for his generosity, kindness, and love for his family. He was always willing to help someone when they needed it and never hesitated to take care of those around him. His loving and generous spirit left a lasting impression on his family and the many people whose lives he touched.

Ernie is survived by his wife, Sharon Robinson; his daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Spencer Pendley; his grandchildren, Bella and Hayden Pendley; and his brother, William Robinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Robinson and Viva Robinson, and his sister, Violet.

Ernie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for the life he built, the people he helped, and, most of all, the family he loved and cared for so deeply.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colusa, California.
