COLUSA, CA (MPG) – After taking a week off for the Fourth of July holiday, the Levitt AMP Colusa Music Series returns Thursday, July 9, with internationally acclaimed Celtic rock band The Young Dubliners performing at Veterans Memorial Park.
The series resumes following a successful opening to its fourth season, according to Colusa County Arts Council Executive Director Milly Lee.
“We’ve had an awesome turnout for the first event,” Lee said. “The park was packed with many dancing and having a good time.”
Lee said organizers are looking forward to welcoming the community back for another evening of free live music in downtown Colusa.
For more than 30 years, The Young Dubliners have built a worldwide following with energetic live performances and a sound that blends traditional Irish influences with rock music. While often categorized as a Celtic rock band, the group’s music draws from a variety of musical styles shaped by the backgrounds and influences of its members.
The current lineup features Keith Roberts, Chas Waltz, Justin Pecot, Dave Ingraham and Ethan Jones. The band has released nine studio albums and is currently working on its 10th with longtime producer Tim Boland while continuing an active international touring schedule.
Throughout their career, The Young Dubliners have appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and toured with artists including Collective Soul and Jethro Tull. More recently, the band has embraced an independent approach by funding its newest album with direct support from fans, allowing members to maintain creative control while continuing to evolve their sound.
The free concert begins at 6:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, located at the corner of Jay and 10th streets in downtown Colusa.
Dinner will be served by The Stagehands. Community partners for the evening are Friends of the Colusa Library and the Kids Growing Strong Community Garden. The performance is sponsored by Leo and Cindy Steidlmayer.
The Levitt AMP Colusa Music Series is presented by the Colusa County Arts Council with support from the Levitt Foundation, the City of Colusa and PG&E. Admission is free.
