Colusa County Launches Full 211 Service

COLUSA, CA (MPG) – Colusa County residents can now dial 211 for help finding local health and human services following the launch of the county’s full 211 system.

In partnership with Help Central Inc., Colusa County is expanding access that began earlier this year with an online resource database and text assistance.

The free, confidential service connects residents with information about housing, food, health care, utility assistance, mental health services, employment, transportation, child care and other community resources.

Residents can dial 211 to speak with a local community resource specialist from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturdays.

Residents can also text their ZIP code to 898211 during those hours or search for programs and services online at http://211Colusa.info.

The full launch follows Colusa County’s announcement earlier this year that it had applied to the California Public Utilities Commission to activate 211 service. At that time, the county and Help Central introduced the online resource database and text services while working toward full activation.

Some telephone carriers serving Colusa County are still working to enable 211 dialing for their customers; however, residents who cannot connect by dialing 211 can call 833-222-7026.

For more information, dial 211, text a ZIP code to 898211 or visit http://211Colusa.info.
