COLUSA, CA (MPG) – The 2026 Levitt AMP Colusa Music Series continues Thursday, June 25, with a performance by La Doña, a San Francisco-based artist whose music blends traditional Latin American sounds with contemporary influences.

Born Cecilia Cassandra Peña-Govea, La Doña has gained recognition for combining musical styles such as corrido, cumbia and mariachi with elements of hip-hop, reggaeton and jazz. Her work draws from her Mexican heritage while exploring themes of community, identity, healing and social justice.

A lifelong musician, educator and activist, La Doña has built a reputation as both a performer and advocate for underrepresented voices in the arts. Her efforts have earned recognition from organizations and publications including YouTube Foundry, The New York Times Magazine and the San Francisco Chronicle.

La Doña has appeared at major music festivals including Lollapalooza and Outside Lands, bringing her unique blend of traditional and modern sounds to audiences across the country. In 2024, she released her debut album, “Los Altos de la Soledad,” further establishing herself as a rising voice in contemporary Latin music.

The free concert begins at 6:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, located at the corner of Jay and 10th streets in downtown Colusa.

Dinner will be available from the Colusa Lions Club. Community partners for the evening include Friends of the Colusa Library and the Kids Growing Strong Community Garden. The performance is sponsored by Social Studies Residency.

The Levitt AMP Colusa Music Series is presented by the Colusa County Arts Council with support from the Levitt Foundation, the City of Colusa and PG&E. The series brings free live music to downtown Colusa each Thursday through Aug. 6, with no concert scheduled July 2.
