Life is Good: Here we go again

Memorial Day just passed. With it came another assault on its true purpose.

Official recognition as a holiday spread among the states, beginning with New York in 1873. By 1890, every state had adopted it. The world wars turned it into a day of remembrance for all members of the U.S. military who fought and died in service. In 1968, Congress changed its observance to the last Monday in May, and in 1971 standardized its name as “Memorial Day.”

Apparently, all of our holidays have now become days of protest. These days the radicals of our country have chosen to use these days of reverence and remembrance to fight for criminals.

No matter how many Americans (adult and children) have been raped, maimed or murdered the idiotic protest to protect the offenders continues.

Whatever happened to the times of American pride, respect for those who have served and died for our country.

When did it become a time to fight for the   rights of those illegally in our country?

But, still among us are patriots who continue to hold remembrances ceremonies, parades and the like. I have to believe that the true Americans will continue to respect. They will not step aside and allow paid protesters to sway their beliefs.

Many of my family members served in the military. My father, uncles, cousins and husband served.

To see these low life types disregard their service and instead fight for illegal rights is heartbreaking. It is a slap in the face of those who served.

I wonder how many would rather go back to placing flowers on graves of loved ones or having a quiet family picnic.

Wouldn’t that be nice?

Life would be good today.
