RedHawk Tennis rallies past Gridley

Colusa senior Adrian Perez returns a volley in a photo from April 28. Perez won both his final singles and doubles matches this season against Gridley on May 12.

Colusas boys tennis team concluded its season by edging Gridley 5-4 in a hard fought match at home on May 12.

Senior Adrian Perez, the RedHawks No.1, capped his playing career with a come from behind 4-6, 6-0, 8-3 victory in singles and another in doubles along side his partner Leo Bedolla when they prevailed 8-5.

Sophomore Asa Smith made another strong showing at No. 3 downing his opponent in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, before combining with senior Nathael Morales De La Vega to win in doubles 8-3.

Also picking up a win in singles for the RedHawks was freshman Alberto Leos as he prevailed 6-0, 6-4 in the No. 5 match.

Colusa (3-5) loses just three seniors to graduation and should return nine others with another year of experience under their belt.
