Pierce 3 – Willows 1 (1/29)

In its only match last week, the Bears got past the Honkers behind a hat trick from Juan Madragon.

Sitting atop the Sacramento Valley League standings, the Bears (9-1-2, 3-0-2) hosted Colusa on Feb. 3, then headed to Winters on Feb. 5 for a showdown with the second place Warriors.

Williams 1 – Winters 1 (1/27)

Longtime rivals for supremacy in the Northern Section Division III, Williams and Winters played to a draw last week in the only match for the Yellowjackets.

Max Garcia scored the ‘Jackets’ lone goal off an assist from Manny Santillan.

This week, Williams (4-1-4, 1-0-3) entertained Willows and Colusa at McCarl Field on Feb. 2 and Feb. 5 respectively.

Colusa 5 – Willows 0 (1/27)
Colusa 1 – Winters 4 (1/29)

A Yandel Ornelas hat trick and a brace from Romeo Ponce propelled the RedHawks to a shutout victory over the Honkers, but they could not replicate their success against the Warriors two days later.

Ornelas accounted for the only goal in the loss.

Currently fourth in the SVL standings, Colusa (4-9-2, 1-3-1) was in Arbuckle on Tuesday to take on Pierce before making its way to Williams on Thursday to play the Yellowjackets.

Maxwell 2 – Durham 0 (1/26)
Maxwell 5 – Shasta Charter 1 (1/28)
Maxwell 3 – Redding Christian 3 (1/29)

Although no statistics were made available, last week was a good albeit a busy one for the Panthers who picked up wins against Durham and Shasta Charter before playing Redding Christian to a draw.

Maxwell (4-3-1, 4-2-1) continued Mid-Valley League play this week having hosted Los Molinos on Feb. 2 ahead of its match in Hamilton City on Feb. 5.

Colusa 3 – Willows 1 (1/27)
Colusa 0 – Winters 5 (5 (1/29)

After having a relatively easy go of it against the Honkers, Colusa was held scoreless by the Warriors who have just two losses on the season and are the SVL’s first place team.

In the win, the RedHawks got goals from Itzel Cruz, Janell Garcia and Natalee Stegall, while Lizbet Ayala provided two assists.

Having seen its three-match win streak end with the setback to Winters, Colusa (8-6-1, 3-2) looked to get back on track on the road having played Pierce on Tuesday and Williams on Thursday.

Pierce 3 – Willows 2 (1/29)

Up 2-1 at the half, the Bears let one slip away as the Honkers put two in the back of the net in the second half.

Olivia Dudley and Lesly Medina accounted for the two Pierce scores.

This week the Bears (4-7-1, 1-3-1) had a tough task, having welcomed second place Colusa to town on Feb. 3 then followed up by traveling to take on first place Winters on Feb. 5.

Williams 0 – Winters 9 (1/27)

Fifth place Williams (1-5-2, 0-2-1) had a rough go of it against perennial power Winters having suffered a lopsided loss last week, but hoped for more success in two home games against Willows and Colusa on Tuesday and Thursday respectively.

Maxwell 2 – Durham 9 (1/26)
Maxwell 0 – Shasta Charter 12 (1/28)

The Panthers dropped a pair of MVL matches last week although no other information was provided.

Maxwell (1-7, 1-5) looked to bring an end to its four-game skid when it entertained Los Molinos on Feb. 2 ahead of its second match of the week in Hamilton City on Feb. 5.
