Eagles continue to roll

Princeton’s Junior Adrade, the team’s scoring leader, had 25 points in the Eagles’ win over CORE Butte on Dec. 14.

It’s been a hot start to the season for the Princeton Eagles as they extended their win streak to five straight games with victories over Elk Creek and CORE Butte last week.

Fresh off its championship at the Wells’ Tournament in Maxwell, the Eagles carried their momentum forward when they traveled to Elk Creek on Dec. 13, and downed the Elks 76-47.

Despite playing without leading scorer Junior Andrade, who is averaging 21 points per game, Corwyn Robeson stepped up to lead Princeton, pouring in 24 points on his birthday.

Also, helping the cause in the win over Elk Creek, was Alessandro Sullivan, who finished with 10 points and five steals.

In their second game of the week, the Eagles blew past CORE Butte 59-26, with Andrade back in the lineup and continuing to put up big numbers, with 25 points and nine steals.

Tito Reynoso finished with 12 points, all coming from behind the arc, while Robeson collected nine rebounds.

This week, Princeton looked to remain unbeaten when it opened play in the Los Molinos Tournament on Tuesday.
