NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT at a regular meeting of the Colusa County Board of Supervisors on January 3, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. in the Board Chambers located at 546 Jay Street, Suite 108, Colusa, CA, the Board will consider a proposed Ordinance as follows:
ORDINANCE SUMMARY
The County of Colusa is proposing to adopt an ordinance adding Chapter 18C (Emergency Medical Ground Transportation Transactions and Use Tax Ordinance) to the Colusa County Ordinance Code. This ordinance would create a one-half of one percent (0.5%) sales tax to be levied on the sale or use of “tangible personal property” sold at retail countywide. The tax would be paid in addition to current sales taxes and would be administered by the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration, in the same manner that the current sales tax is administered. The tax is a special tax that can only be used to support emergency medical ground transportation. The ordinance would also require the Board of Supervisors to create a Citizen Advisory Committee. The special tax was approved by more than two-thirds of the voters at the November 8, 2022 general election.
All documentation including the complete text of the Ordinance is available for review in the Office of the Clerk of the Board. If you have questions or concerns regarding this matter, or would like to submit comments you may do so to the following: Clerk to the Board of Supervisors, 547 Market Street, Ste. 102, Colusa, CA (530)458-0508, or by e-mail at boardclerk@countyofcolusa.com. All persons are invited to attend and be heard.
