WILLIAMS, CA (MPG) – Congressman Mike Thompson met with Colusa County residents Tuesday during an “Ask Me Anything” town hall in Williams, where he discussed issues affecting rural communities alongside Colusa County Supervisor Kent Boes.
The July 28 meeting gave residents an opportunity to ask questions and discuss concerns ranging from the cost of living and insurance access to infrastructure improvements and agriculture.
“Too often our rural communities get left behind,” Thompson said. “I’ve always represented rural communities and know the unique challenges we face. I will continue to work to bring down the cost of everyday goods, provide relief for those harmed by reckless tariffs and support our local agriculture.”
Thompson, who said he operates a small farm, told attendees he understands the challenges facing agricultural communities.
“As a small farmer myself, I know we need battle-tested, experienced leaders to advocate for the North State during these unprecedented times,” Thompson said. “Regardless of what party you are registered with, I will always fight for our district.”
Boes said he appreciates Thompson’s continued engagement with Colusa County.
“I am grateful for the Congressman’s commitment to understanding the issues that we face in Colusa County,” Boes said. “He has been engaged for quite some time now, and I look forward to partnering with him for the betterment of all of Colusa County, its citizens and their needs.”
The Williams event is part of Thompson’s series of community meetings across California’s Fourth Congressional District. According to his office, Thompson has hosted more than 40 town halls, community coffees and meet-and-greet events throughout the district.
Thompson is seeking reelection to represent the Fourth Congressional District, which includes all or portions of Colusa, Lake, Napa, Placer, Sacramento, Sonoma, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba counties.
