COLUSA, CA (MPG) – The Levitt AMP Colusa Music Series continues Thursday, July 30, with Colombian singer-songwriter Alea bringing a blend of cumbia, vallenato, rancheras, R&B and pop to Veterans Memorial Park.

Originally from La Guajira, Colombia, and now based in New York City, Alea has built a following with music that celebrates Latin American traditions while embracing contemporary influences. Her songs explore themes of love, women’s empowerment, and social awareness, creating a sound that blends folkloric roots with modern production.

Alea’s performances showcase what she describes as a new vision of Latin alternative music, combining traditional rhythms with an evolving style that reaches across genres.

Her album, “Alborotá,” was recognized by both Rolling Stone and NPR as one of the year’s best Latin music releases. She is currently working on a new album that expands her sound with electronic music, R&B and Latin ul, with new songs being released as singles.

The free concert begins at 6:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, located at the corner of Jay and 10th streets in downtown Colusa.

Dinner will be served by the Colusa Veterans of Foreign Wars. Community partners for the evening include Friends of the Colusa Library and the Kids Growing Strong Community Garden. The performance is sponsored by Denise and Ed Conrado.

The Levitt AMP Colusa Music Series is presented by the Colusa County Arts Council with support from the Levitt Foundation, the City of Colusa and PG&E. Admission is free.
