ARBUCKLE, CA (MPG) – After weeks of planning, the Arbuckle Revitalization Committee has finalized the schedule for Saturday’s Arbuckle 150th Celebration, inviting residents and visitors to commemorate the town’s 150th birthday with a full day of activities in downtown Arbuckle.
The July 18 celebration will feature a community parade, vendor fair, children’s carnival, contests, historical exhibits, live entertainment and a street dance.
The day begins at 10 a.m. with the community parade through downtown. Participants should arrive at Tex’s Tavern parking lot by 9 a.m. for staging.
Following the parade, the vendor fair and children’s carnival will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Sacramento Valley Museum will also host a pop-up museum inside the Arbuckle Parks and Recreation District building from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring exhibits highlighting Arbuckle’s history.
At 11 a.m., the Arbuckle and Williams fire departments will square off in a bucket brigade competition following a community announcement.
Public rib tasting begins at 2 p.m. as teams compete for first place, second place and People’s Choice honors in the Arbuckle Rib Cook-Off. Tasting will continue while supplies last.
Also at 2 p.m., the cornhole tournament gets underway. Two-person teams may register for $20 to compete in the double-elimination tournament, with a $100 first-place prize.
A watermelon and pie-eating contests are scheduled for 3 p.m.
At 5 p.m., the “Arbuckle Melon-Drama,” an Old West gunfight reenactment, will take center stage in downtown Arbuckle.
At 6 p.m., organizers will honor community members who have made lasting contributions to Arbuckle during a special awards ceremony before the celebration concludes with a street dance featuring the band Playback from 6 to 9 p.m.
The Colusa County Board of Supervisors recently recognized the milestone by proclaiming July 18, 2026, as “Arbuckle’s 150th Birthday.” Arbuckle Revitalization Committee President Elijah Rodriguez accepted the proclamation on behalf of the committee.
