WILLIAMS, CA (MPG) – Residents will have an opportunity to meet local first responders, learn about public safety and enjoy family activities during National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
The Williams Fire Department and community partners will host the annual event from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on E Street near the Williams Fire Department. Organizers describe National Night Out as a nationwide effort that promotes partnerships between public safety agencies and the communities they serve while encouraging neighborhood connections.
The free event is open to the public and will feature opportunities to meet first responders, enjoy food, participate in games and activities and watch safety demonstrations. Event organizers expect hundreds of local residents to attend the evening gathering.
According to information released by the Williams Fire Department, community organizations, businesses and service groups are invited to participate as vendors. Organizers are seeking information booths, family-friendly activities and services that support community engagement. Participation is free, although registration is required and space will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Vendor registration forms must be returned by July 16. Vendors are responsible for providing their own tables, chairs and tents and should plan to be fully set up by 5 p.m. before the event begins.
Photos from last year’s National Night Out show firefighters providing rescue demonstrations, public safety displays, CPR education and opportunities for children to interact with emergency responders and equipment. Organizers said the event also featured free hot dogs and hamburgers for attendees.
