COLUSA, CA (MPG) – The Colusa City Council recognized Mel Pina during its June 16 meeting with a Certificate of Appreciation for her volunteer service as a school crossing guard at Egling Middle School.
Mayor Denise Conrado presented the award, praising Pina’s dedication to helping students safely travel to and from school each day.
“Your commitment to the safety and well-being of our children, along with the willingness to volunteer your time, reflects the very best of the City of Colusa,” Conrado said during the presentation.
Conrado said Pina’s reliability, kindness and vigilance have helped ensure the safety of local children while strengthening the community through her service.
City officials noted that Pina has generously volunteered her time to support children and families, serving as a positive example of community involvement.
“Your efforts do not go unnoticed and are deeply appreciated by the City Council, staff and residents,” Conrado said.
