COLUSA, CA (MPG) – The Stagehands Theatre will present its second annual Variety Show on Saturday, May 16, bringing a full lineup of music and comedy to the Stagehands Theater at the Colusa County Fairgrounds.

Variety Show Producer Thomas Roach said this year’s program was built to highlight the range of local performers and to keep the evening lively from start to finish.

“It is an experience to appreciate our local talent,” Roach said. “I’m excited about what people will see this year.”

The lineup includes seven musical solos, three duets, five humor skits and one stand up comic. Roach said the mix reflects the performers who stepped forward and the community’s interest in seeing a broad range of acts on one stage.

Several returning performers will take part. Local singer songwriter Marco Valdez will perform again after drawing strong audience response last year. Kelli Joel, known for her musical theater work, will return with a new piece. Henry Finnen, who impressed the crowd last year with his ukulele performance, will take the stage again with another musical set. Rod Brayfindley will return as Master of Ceremonies and will guide the program with his familiar humor and steady timing.

Roach said the intent behind the show remains the same as the inaugural year. The goal is to give performers of all ages a welcoming place to share their work and to build an annual event that reflects the county’s creativity.

“This is something we want people to look forward to every year,” Roach said. “It brings the community together.”

The event will be held inside the Stagehands Theater at the Colusa County Fairgrounds, 1303 10th St. (Hwy. 20). Use the 9th Street entrance. Tickets are $10 and available at the door.
