It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of Jerry Lou Baker 76 of Hermiston Oregon. Jerry passed away at Kadlec Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family in Richland Washington on October 13th 2025.
Born April 27th, 1949 to Clyde and Billie Jean Baker in Willows, California. Jerry attended school in Maxwell and graduated from Maxwell High School in June of 1967. Following high school she attended Yuba College and Healds Business in Sacramento. During her high school and college days Jerry showed her competitive side and deep love of sports by playing volleyball and softball. After school Jerry began pursuing her passion for cooking and restaurant management. Known throughout northern California Jerry spent many years cooking delicious steaks and italian recipes at Louis Cairos in Williams, The Wharf in Redding and the Store Arbor in Colusa. After the restaurant business she focused on preparing meals for school students at Maxwell Unified School district. She drove school bus, coached high school softball and kept score for any one who would let her. She was always excited to support kids playing games she loved! Following retirement in 2003, Jerry prepared meals for seniors at the Winters Community Center in Winters CA.
Jerry loved to touch people’s hearts through her food! She was a perfectionist in the kitchen and always grumbled when anyone asked for a steak well done. She always made time for her niece and nephew supporting them in everything they did. Jerry was active in her church attending Sunday service and bible studies. Her faith was the center of her life. Though we mourn her passing, we rejoice in the hope we have in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. The hope of eternity together.
A graveside service will be held at Williams Cemetery on Monday November 24th, 2025 at 10am. A celebration of life will follow in Maxwell at Dawn and
Jim Brown’s residence.
