It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of John Eggers on August 13, 2025. Born John Walter Eggers on March 30, 1942 in Orange, California. John’s remarkable life was dedicated to his love for the Lord Jesus Christ, his family, and friends. His exuberance for life was as contagious as his smile. John never met a stranger. He was always ready with an encouraging word and a helpful hand. It brought him great joy to selflessly pour into the lives of those around him.
Growing up, it was apparent that John loved agriculture and the lifestyle it entailed. After graduating Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, he moved to Maxwell, California and became an Ag teacher at Maxwell High School for four years before deciding to jump into farming full-time. Farming was an industry and lifestyle that brought him purpose and enjoyment for a lifetime. He continued farming over the next 58 years. He was a member of the Maxwell Fire Department for 35 years, a pilot, and was known for his white sweet corn at his local corn stand. John set an example of hard work, loyalty, dedication, and service to those around him.
His love for life was infectious. We would love to relay all the stories, experiences, and testimonies of the life of John, but we hope that as a memory or a thought of him comes to you, a story, a smile, and a laugh follows. He lived a life worth celebrating and was dearly loved. John is survived by his wife, Jeanette of 57 years, three children Lucas (Jenny) Eggers, Walter Eggers, and Emily (Hal) Frye, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
