Annual Fall Rummage Sale – The Arbuckle United Methodist Church will open its annual Fall Rummage Sale from 4 pm to 6 pm today, Oct. 27. Proceeds from the sale will support the Church’s missions and ministries. The Methodist Church is located at 600 Pendleton Way (9th and Pendleton), Arbuckle.

All Saints Labyrinth Walk – Friendship Hall at Trinity United Methodist Church, 5th and Oak Streets, Colusa, will be open this Saturday, Oct. 28, from 9 am until noon for an All Saints Labyrinth Walk. Puptoberfest – Puptoberfest, a celebration of dogs, will be held 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Veteran’s Memorial Park, 10th and Market St., Colusa. The event benefits the Friends of the Colusa County Animal Shelter (FOCCAS), which provides support for the animal shelter and its furry residents not otherwise provided by the county. This event for people and pets will include puppuccinos, lawn games, a book giveaway, kids crafts, a hotdog lunch, and the crowd favorite: a dog costume contest. Family Day at Arts Council – The Colusa County Arts Council will be open 4 pm to 6 pm on Saturday, Oct. 28, to host a family day in conjunction with the Stagehands Scarecrow Contest. Trunk or Treat – The Colusa County Fairgrounds and Colusa County Chamber of Commerce invite local businesses or members of the community to join the fun and decorate the truck of your car, truck, boat, trailer, or tractor and come on out for a spooktacular Trunk or Treat event from noon to 2 pm on Saturday, Oct. 28. Downtown Arbuckle Car Show – The annual Downtown Arbuckle Car Show will be held from 10 am to 2 pm on Sunday, Oct. 29, in Downtown Arbuckle. The event includes hundreds of unique, antique, vintage, and classic cars and trucks, vendor fair, Halloween costume parade, and a tri-tip barbecue lunch. Lifelong Readers Book Club – The Colusa County Free Library’s Lifelong Readers Book Club will discuss “The Paris Library’’ by Janet Skeslien Charles, from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm on Oct. 31, at the Colusa branch, 738 Market St., Colusa. This novel is based on the true story of the heroic librarians at the American Library in Paris during World War II. Print and audio books can be checked out at the library.
Trick or Treat Meet & Greet – Bright Vista Youth Center will host a Trick or Treat Meet & Greet with spooktacular games, prizes, and treats from 4 pm to 6 pm, on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 304 5th Steet, Colusa. Salmon Bend Winter Show – Salmon Bend Art Studios will host the 4th annual Winter Show in November, featuring artwork by Gabe Babcock, Roberta Monte James, and LK James. The artists will host a reception from 5:30 pm to 7 pm on Friday Nov. 3, and two weekends of gallery hours from noon to 4 pm, Nov. 4-5 and Nov. 11-12. Countywide 4-H Craft Expo – The Countywide “Make it and Take it” 4-H Craft Expo will be held from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday, Nov. 4, in the Main Exhibits Building at the Colusa County Fairgrounds, 1303 10th St., Colusa. There will be a variety of craft booths with supplies to make ornaments and other crafts. The Craft Expo is open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.
Grimes Ladies Aid Dinner and Bazaar – The Grimes Ladies Aid Society will hold its annual dinner and bazaar beginning at 5 pm on Saturday, Nov. 4, at Grand Island Elementary School, 551 W Leven St., Grimes. The Society will be serving its delicious turkey and ham dinner with all the trimmings. Donations are $16 for adults; $7 for children ages 5-10. Children under age 5 are free. Bazaar booths will also open at 5 pm. Later that evening, some lucky person will be awarded a beautiful handmade quilt. The public is invited to a night of great food, fun, and fellowship.

Sacred Heart Fall Bazaar – Sacred Heart Church will be serving turkey dinner with all the trimmings and a dessert silent auction, from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the American Legion Hall, 250 Oak St., Maxwell. Adults $15; children $ 5 (4-10); Free for children under 4. Dinner tickets will be sold at the door or in advance by calling the parish office at 473-2432. Bring your family and friends to enjoy dinner, paddle wheel games, and a silent auction.
Saturday, Nov. 11
Veterans Day Ceremony – The Colusa Veterans of Foreign Wars and Maxwell American Legion will host the annual Veterans Day ceremony in remembers of at 1 pm on Nov. 11 at Veterans Memorial Park, 10th and Market St., Colusa. The ceremony will include the annual reading of names on the Memorial Wall. The public is encouraged to attend the ceremony to honor all veterans, living or dead; active or retired.
OLL Pheasant Festival – Our Lady of Lourdes will hold its annual Pheasant Festival from 5 pm to 10 pm on Saturday, Nov. 11, at St. Bernadette’s Hall, 745 Ware Ave., Colusa. Hot Cajun Night – Family Water Alliance will host its annual fundraiser dinner, featuring their famous seafood Cajun rice, silent and live auction, dinner with no host bar, and plenty of great company at 5:30 pm on Saturday, Nov. 18, at St. Bernadette’s Hall, 745 Ware Ave., Colusa. The event includes five samples of chocolate, silent action, and an opportunity to hear music on the only working pipe organ in Colusa County.
