COLUSA, CA (MPG) – The City of Colusa has released the schedule for its July 4 celebration, featuring a full day of activities in recognition of America’s 250th birthday.
The celebration begins at 6 a.m. with rib cook-off team check-in on Main Street between Fifth and Sixth streets. Car show participants can begin checking in at 7:30 a.m. at Seventh and Main streets.
A free pancake breakfast hosted by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be offered during the morning at the Colusa Fire Department, which will also host an open house throughout the day where visitors can tour the station, see firefighting equipment and meet local firefighters.
The Classic Car and Motorcycle Show will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Main Street. The Color Fun Run begins with check-in at 8:30 a.m. at the water towers, followed by the 9 a.m. start along the levee trail.
Vendor booths will begin opening at 9 a.m. Water slides and bounce houses open at 11 a.m., with free face painting available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Live music entertainment will continue from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the fire department.
The Colusa Area Little League will sell hamburgers and hot dogs from noon to 4 p.m. Rib cook-off judging and People’s Choice tasting begins at 12:30 p.m. while supplies last.
Children are invited to participate in the Kids Patriotic Parade. Lineup begins at 2:45 p.m. at the water towers, with the parade stepping off at 3 p.m. through downtown.
The evening concludes with a live performance by Driver from 7 to 10 p.m. before the city’s annual fireworks spectacular at dusk along the riverfront viewing area.
The celebration also includes food vendors, community booths and family activities throughout the day. Organizers have announced approximately a dozen teams are expected to compete in the rib cook-off, while registration remains open for the car show and other activities.
