Stephen Richard Boggs, 64, of Colusa, CA passed away on May 14th, 2026. Stephen was born in Marysville, Ca on February 28, 1962 to Dewitt Boggs Jr and Barbara Messick Boggs of Colusa, CA.
Steven was a lifelong resident of Colusa where he graduated from Colusa High before continuing his education at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and California State University, Chico, where he was a proud member of the AGR
fraternity.
A man of remarkable talent, determination and vision, Steve used his natural gift for design and engineering to build a successful business that spanned four decades. His original ideas and innovative solutions left a lasting mark on both the agricultural and construction industries, improving the lives and work of countless people along the way.
Steve utilized his innate skill and passion for operating heavy equipment working with CalFire and US Forestry for over thirty years helping to battle wildfires throughout California and the western United States. His skill, courage, and steady presence
earned the respect of all who worked beside him.
While Steve was deeply passionate about big game hunting, the outdoors, and his work, nothing meant more to him than his family; his greatest love and accomplishment were his children. Spending time with those he loved was always his first priority. Whether offering guidance, sharing stories, lending a helping hand, or teaching the next generation, Steve made an impact on all those he met. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched as a father, grandfather, mentor, teacher, and friend.
Stephen is survived by his five children, Elyse (Martin), Lauren (Nico), Michael (Charlotte), Addie and Dylan. 10 grandchildren, Macie, Bryce, Waylon, Myles, Paislee, Walker, Emmitt, Gweneth, Veronica and Harland; Suzanne and Angela, and his siblings David, Sally, Lori, and George.
Stephen is preceded in death by his father Dewitt and mother Barbara. Stephen’s celebration of life will be held June 5, 2026, at 1 p.m., at Boggs Equipment and Engineering, 3341 River Rd. in Colusa.
