Pierce 16 – Willows 15 (4/24)
Pierce 16 – Willows 23

Pierce earned its first Sacramento Valley League win in the early game of a twin bill in Willows, only to see the Honkers take the night cap in another high scoring affair.

Anayeli Acevedo and Rylie Delepierre both collected four hits apiece as the Bears pounded out 17 hits as a team in the win.

However, in the second game, Willows put up big numbers in the fifth and sixth innings to disappoint Pierce.

Citlali Acevedo went 5 for 6 with a pair of doubles and Kendall Mulqueeney was a perfect 4 for 4 to lead the Bears at the plate.

Delepierre garnered three hits and drove in six, Danica Wilkerson picked up three hits and four RBI, while Anayeli Acevedo also had three knocks.

This week, Pierce (5-12, 1-6) hosted Durham on Tuesday then traveled to complete the SVL series with the Trojans on Friday.

Maxwell’s Jada Lazarus doubled in a loss to Biggs on April 24.

Maxwell 0 – Biggs 14 (4/23)
Maxwell 1 – Biggs 13 (4/24)

A Mid-Valley League matchup with the Wolverines did not go well for the Panthers as they dropped both games in the series.

Statistics from the game on April 23 were not available as Maxwell managed just two hits in the shutout loss.

Returning home the following day, Jada Lazarus and Emma Miller each doubled, while Ruby Herrera and Bianca Minutti accounted for the Panthers only other hits.

Maxwell (8-12-1, 2-4) played a non-conference game against Princeton at home on April 28 before entertaining Quincy, the MVL’s first place team, on May 1.

Colusa’s Caeden Agnew hit a home run in the RedHawks’ game against Fernley on April 24 at the Lassen Tournament.

Colusa 9 – Chico 13 (4/24)
Colusa 2 – Fernley 8
Colusa 10 – West Valley 16 (4/25)
Colusa 7 – Spring Creek 7

The RedHawks saw their seven-game hot streak come to an end as they went without a win at the always competitive Lassen Tournament.

In the opener against Chico, Colusa jumped all over the Panthers in the first putting six runs on the board, but were unable to hold the lead in a game that saw the two squads commit a combined nine errors. No other statistics were made available.

Following up against Fernley, the RedHawks two runs came off solo shots by Caeden Agnew and Marlie Berry, while Natalee Stegall finished 2 for 4.

Facing division rival West Valley last Saturday, Colusa again held an early lead, but saw the Eagles come roaring back to overtake them.

Peyton Miller was 3 for 3, Stegal and Braelyn Santana each went 2 for 4, while Zaylah Ramirez ended up 2 for 3.

To conclude the tournament the RedHawks played Spring Creek to a draw.

Stegall stayed hot picking up three more hits, as did Miller and Ramirez who had two knocks apiece.

Resuming Sacramento Valley League play this week, Colusa (12-9-1, 7-0) had a critical series with East Nicolaus played on April 28 and May 1 that will determine the top spot in the standings, then also squeezed in a makeup game with Paradise on April 29.
