Hope for the young

Last week we met a young man of East Indian descent. We loved visiting with him. He was intelligent, kind and took an interest in us two oldsters.

What struck me most was the pride he took in being an American. He spoke of his frustration when he saw the inane protests against our own.

This tells me there is hope. There is hope for our younger generations. I have to think they are learning from mistakes. The mistakes are being made by the elders of this Nation in front of them.

All three of my kids worked their way through college. This young guy is doing the same.

As I’ve said many times; things mean more, and are appreciated more when you earn them.

We lost California Congressman Doug LaMalfa last week. The loss is one of great representation of the people. He fought for what was good and tried his best to protect the citizens of the North State.

My years as a publicist in Colusa County taught me who I could reach out to and who would respond. Doug always responded and was always willing to help.

Rest in peace Doug. Yours was a job well done.

There is hope. With young people willing to earn their way, and people that actually care about the people there is hope.

I’m a fan of Dean Koontz novels. They are good over evil based and good always wins.

There is hope.

Life is good today.
