Williams, CA (MPG) — Granzella’s Restaurant in Williams is adding a new flavor to its long-standing tradition with the launch of a weekend brunch menu, part of its lead-up to the restaurant’s 50th anniversary next year.
Daniel Jenkins, manager at Granzella’s, said the brunch is a way to offer locals and travelers something new while honoring the community that has supported the family business since 1976.
“We just want to do something new, especially for our customers,” Jenkins said. “Brunch has become pretty popular, and we are always looking to give our customers something fresh.”
The brunch menu, available Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., features items unique to the offering and separate from Granzella’s regular breakfast lineup. Dishes range from traditional favorites like Huevos Rancheros and Chilaquiles to creative plates such as Chorizo Breakfast Chili and Granzella’s Style Avo Toast topped with prosciutto and sweet red peppers. Sweet options include cinnamon apple crepes, blueberry pancakes with pumpkin-spiced bacon, and brioche French toast with mixed berries.

For those looking to pair a meal with a drink, Granzella’s has introduced several seasonal cocktails, including the Pumpkin Pie Martini, Sparkling Tequila Sunrise, and an espresso martini. One of the most talked-about additions is the mimosa flight, offering flavors such as pomegranate, blueberry lavender, pineapple jalapeño, and the bright blue “Tiffany.”

Jenkins said the brunch was designed with input from the entire kitchen staff.
“We asked everyone what they’d like to see that’s different,” he said. “The chorizo breakfast chili is one of my favorites. It’s something we think people will really enjoy.”
Beyond the new brunch, Granzella’s continues to offer its full menu seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m..
Additionally Granzella’s offers full-service catering, and banquet hall rentals across the street. Jenkins said the fall season is an ideal time to book catering for holiday events, noting that the team can host gatherings both in-house and off-site.
Founded by Jim Granzella in 1976, the business has grown into one of Northern California’s most recognizable roadside stops. After a fire destroyed the building in 2008, the family rebuilt and expanded the operation, now run by Jim’s grandchildren Dino, Daniel, and Stacey.
Granzella’s has become known for its variety. The property includes a full-service restaurant, sports bar, market and deli, bakery, hotel, and gift shop. The bakery continues to make fresh sourdough rolls and gelato daily and is currently featuring seasonal pumpkin and pecan pies available for order ahead of the holidays.
From imported meats and cheeses in the deli to Italian pottery and kitchen goods in the gift shop, Granzella’s remains focused on maintaining the same quality and uniqueness that made it a local favorite.
As the restaurant approaches its 50th year, Jenkins said the new brunch menu is both a celebration and a nod to what has always made Granzella’s special, its connection to community and commitment to good food.
“Jim always strived to create a special atmosphere,” Jenkins said. “We just try to continue that same legacy.”
