After winning the 1600 and 3200 meter races at the Mid-Valley League championship meet on May 5 at Durham High School, the Yellowjackets’ Isabella Santillan will move on to the Northern Section Division III Finals.
Santillan cruised to a win in the 1600 in a time of 5:56.97, and then did the same in the 3200, finishing in 13:14.20.
It will be a return trip to the finals for the junior, who has proven she can compete with the section’s best, having set marks two seconds faster than she was a year ago in the 1600 and 51 seconds better in the 3200.
Northern Section Division III track athletes will converge upon West Valley High School in Cottonwood on Friday, where berths to the Northern Section Finals are at stake. ■
